Peter Rabbit and a Gramophone

‘Once upon a time there were four little rabbits, and their names were Flopsy, Mopsy, Cotton-tail and Peter.’

It was my second time in York so I knew exactly where I wanted to go in the very little time I had. I visited the two large antiques centres – York Antiques Centre (where I bought a cat perpetual calendar) and Banana Warehouse. I also wandered around the many charity shops on Goodramgate, my favourite being the Sue Ryder shopΒ which has an entire floor of vintage clothing and goodies. The ladies very kindly let me take a few photographs, and I found a gorgeous vintage C&A dress. TheΒ dress has already been worn to the Cath Kidston press day.

The city was covered in pretty decorations making it feel like Christmas. I especially loved the displays in The ImaginariumΒ (gold carousel horse and deer in domes).Β The traditional tea rooms were busy serving cream teas, and everywhere seemed cosy and very British. I can’t wait until my next visit.

Oh you were just down the road from me – shame it was a flying visit. You make York look even more beautiful than ever. Now I want to go to that Sue Ryder shop very badly indeed!
