HOLLY HOBBIE AND FRIENDS

As a child of the 1970s, images like these covered my world. I loved Holly Hobbie, Victoria Plum, Strawberry Shortcake and the sweet characters of Beautiful Sunday and Petticoats and Pantaloons. I had a small collection of Beautiful Sunday stationery and my Mum made me a dress from Holly Hobbie fabric. Treasures I wish I still had.

I recently discovered hundreds of these nostalgic images on Pinterest reigniting my love! I have a rather modest collection (see below), all of which came from local charity shops. You can buy plenty of these pretties on eBay and Etsy but I prefer to find them locally. I guess it’s like collecting vintage in a vintage way!

All images are from my nostalgia board on Pinterest. Further reading: my vintage European kitsch collection.

Well of course Victoria Plum is my favourite (I wonder why!!) but I used to have a bedding with the others. The days I regret 'getting older' and throwing out all this fun stuff.

Why did we throw this stuff away? We should have known we would get old and sentimental! I wish I had a time machine…

Somewhere I have small "stuffed" Holly Hobby dolls. If I can find them, they are yours! 🙂

Oh how fabulous! You have reminded me of some posters I had on my wall as a kid – can't remember what they were called, but I have just unearthed this pic of my mum reading me a bedtime story – precious memories! https://www.dropbox.com/s/95jn827d2sc2p67/1981%20Zoe%20Bedtime%20Story.jpg xxx

These images are so gorgeous, and I love how 70s they are! They remind me of some of the comic books my mum has from the 70s. Your collection is beautiful, I especially love the little hedgehog, he's so cute 🙂 xx

Thanks for posting this – so lovely to see these images. I used to have a sweet wee Holly Hobby dress (over here in NZ) and many of these images I recognise. So sweet.
