‘Of course personally I think it would be tacky to wear diamonds before I’m 40.’
Holly Golightly, Breakfast at Tiffany’s
Now Christmas is over I’m already looking forward to the crocuses. It was a busy one: Gloucestershire for three days, Herefordshire for four and Berkshire for two (thank you everyone for spoiling us!). Anyway, we’re home now, and I’m enjoying having my man all to myself!
I just spent a moment looking at my New Year post of 2013 and although I totally embraced the fun and travel goals I continued to be hard on myself. I really tried to chill out – even taking up yoga – but it just wasn’t me, and then I was hard on myself for failing. I guess it’s difficult to change the person you are.
New Year is always a good time to stop and consider, and here are a few thoughts for the coming year. Things I do, try to do or would like to do better, with a few additions for 2014.
Plan my 40th birthday celebrations
Indulge in happy things
Buy less stuff
Stress less, relax more
Exercise at least twice a week
Cook with my man
Give stuff to charity
Watch films with my man
See friends, more
Embrace getting older
Enjoy every day, even Mondays
Follow my heart
Indulge in day trips, holidays and adventures
Learn to say no
Be kind, to myself and others
Try new things
Save pennies for a rainy day, and a Chanel bag
Don’t look back
Buy more new music
Have fresh flowers around my home
Let go of worrying
Always be positive
Take time out
Look forward to diamonds, and to turning 40
Happy New Year! Thank you for your support, positivity and inspiration. I hope you have a wonderful 2014 filled with good health and happiness, and may all your dreams come true.
Things may go a little quiet here during January because I have a few projects to complete. So until next time, is there anything better than vintage white kitties with pink bows?
