‘If I lived in Oxford I would visit the botanic garden every week because it would always look different.’  My dad

With my parents visiting I had an excuse to be a tourist in my own city. Everything was blooming, and sprouting, and budding, and new. It reminded me of a Beatrix Potter book, and I half expected Mr McGregor to pop out from behind a greenhouse.

Of all the spring flowers my favourites are the teeny tiny blue ones, or scilla siberica to be exact. They are similar in colour to bluebells, and there is nothing prettier than a carpet of blue flowers. Although I’ll spare you the 20+ shots I took of them.

Life is moving quickly. You know when you feel busy, but you’re not quite sure what you’ve been doing. It makes me think of the John Lennon quote ‘life is what happens to you while you’re busy making other plans.’ If only there were more hours in the day, or better still, I had a PA. How amazing would that be?

I was recently asked to pick an item from the current Boden collection as part of the importance of being Boden campaign. As you know I’m a huge Boden fan, so selecting something from one of my folded down catalogue pages didn’t take long.

The item I chose was the shirt, which comes in a range of yummy colours and prints. It’s a great classic piece for my new streamlined wardrobe, and versatile enough to wear to the office or on a country stroll. From office to countryside!

I have a 50+ hour working week and the only thing keeping me going is the thought of attending the Vogue Festival on Sunday. I’m looking forward to hearing Grayson Perry, Jasper Conran and Lily Allen in conversation. Maybe I’ll see you there!

Lovely pictures. My garden is currently carpeted with Scilla and muscari. They grow through the gravel and fill the borders, hence we never start our Spring tidying until they have gone over. I agree they are the most beautiful colour and the thing that tells me Spring is really just around the corner! Hope you had a good visit and enjoy your festival.
