What's In My Bag

WHAT’S IN MY BAG

My love affair with handbags began at an early age. My mum loved bags and when she bought a new one I used to watch her transfer her things from her old bag into the new one. It was like a ritual.

I developed a taste for designer handbags after treating myself to a DKNY satchel shortly after I became the manager of agnes b. You can’t rough it when working in a French designer boutique! Since then I’ve gradually acquired a number of handbags ranging from the Chloe ‘Paddington’ to the Balenciaga ‘Twiggy.’ To me, handbags are things of beauty and I’m always excited to view the new season collections.

The reason for this post is to introduce you to the gorgeous illustrations of the Stockholm-based artist Kristina Hultkrantz also known as Emma Kisstina. Kristina draws pretty illustrations of flowers, perfume bottles, handbags and many other pretty things. I was honoured when she contacted me to draw my bag as part of her blogger what’s in my bag series. And with my 40th birthday only a few weeks away, this illustration now marks a milestone in my life. Thank you so much, Kristina!

To see more from the fabulously talented Kristina do visit her blog and shop. Here are a few more illustrations from the series.

Love these ilustrations, they are so fresh and original!
I love the bags as well when I make shopping I always look for a new one. Mine's come from Zara, Massimo dutti, Lancel and the last one Gérard Darell….but I dream of a Channel and Loewe !

I've wanted a Chanel bag for as long as I can remember!

I could live with the contents of your bag :-))
I don't care much about clothes, but handbags, that's another story… I love a classic, neutral, "good-for-years-without-being-out-of-fashion" handbag. I prefer spending a lot on one good bag, in stead of buying every season cheap ones… So I have some nice ones in my cupboard 😉

Oh yes, handbag shopping is so much more fun than shoes / clothes shopping!

Oh my gosh– what a lovely illustration— such a fitting gift! Like you I really love a beautiful handbag. I think, when cared for correctly, a bag only becomes more beautiful with age…
