Danse des petits cygnes

I cried three times: as the orchestra played the opening music, when Odette first appeared on stage and at the moment the four ballerinas linked arms to perform dance of the cygnets. Swan Lake at the Royal Opera House was completely and utterly enchanting, and I’ve been listening to Tchaikovsky and talking about ballet ever since. (I’m a bit soppy when it comes to live music!)

It was lovely to spend Valentine’s weekend in London, there were flowers and Valentine displays wherever I looked, and I lost count of how many people wished us a Happy Valentine. How nice!

We stayed at the Kingsway Hall Hotel which was great value and just 5 minutes walk from Covent Garden, the Royal Opera House and Mishkin’s, one of my favourite restaurants.

I enjoyed seeing the new season collections and discovering what colours and fabrics will drift into our subconscious over the coming months. I love all the little details, from the doorways to the street signs, I’m definitely more inspired by London now I no longer live there!

So pretty, you've made me want to go to the ballet. I desperately looked for a performance of the Nutcracker at Christmas but missed out. Happy Valentine!! X

Love your coat! I loved it in the catalogue but as I had already bought a Boden coat before Christmas I couldn't justify a second!

The first ballet I ever saw was Swan Lake whilst I was at uni and I absolutely loved it. As I had played in a couple of orchestras during school (violinist) I got as excited about the music as the dancing! It's a magical experience.
