Last week I spent a rather fabulous Friday at the new Reading branch of Dwell styling and shooting three interior stories. It was a fun day and to add to the excitement a large delivery of shiny new stock arrived, bonus!
I enjoy a challenge and I have to say styling and shooting in a store with customers gave me just that. Thank goodness for the friendly Dwell team who were on hand to help me set things up. Anyway, here are the results, I’d love to know which is your favourite room.
For my first story, I decided to create a mostly monochrome and slightly Scandinavian dining area. I injected a little warmth with the use of gold and greenery and included a rug and lamp to draw things together. I love every item in this room, especially the shelf unit which would look great in my home.
Having recently created a white home office I thought it would be fun to experiment with some darker colours, so I chose a charcoal grey wall and a black gloss desk. To liven things up, I introduced some pops of colour and every copper item I could lay my hands on. I think the hot pink magazine/throw holder is a delight!
For my final story, I pulled together a comfy and cosy living area. I love the muted tones and the softness of the charcoal rug against the white gloss coffee table. I couldn’t resist including the stylish black glass champagne flutes, a copy of Vogue and my leopard print shoes. The perfect place to relax after a hard day at work.
The lovely people at Dwell would like to give one of my readers a £100 voucher. Exciting eh? Simply enter using the grid below. The winner will be selected at random and the giveaway is open to UK residents only. Good luck!
