July was full of sunshine and adventures. I enjoyed an inspiring trip to Birmingham with Rosie and Anna of Independent Oxford. To meet Allison and Christian of the People Shop and Fran of Fall for DIY. We had a delightful lunch at a French cafe. And chatted for hours and hours about sugar and spice and all things nice.

I celebrated my birthday with a trip to the Cotswold Lavender fields, two National Trust manor houses and a delicious afternoon tea at Sketch. Quite possibly the best way to spend a long and sunny weekend. I also celebrated five very happy years with my man. Another excuse for a day in the glorious countryside.

My freelance life’s been busy and I’m grateful for the opportunities I’ve had. I particularly enjoyed writing a feature for Breathe magazine, creating a photo montage for Cross Country trains and taking over the Houzz UK Instagram account. Lots of creativity to occupy my mind.

And finally, I won an award at the Thirty Plus Blog Awards. It only took me eight years! I was shortlisted in two categories: most innovative content and photography star.  I won the former. A big thank you to everyone who took the time to vote for Candy Pop.

I hope you had a gorgeous July and August is fluffier than a Persian cat. I’ll see you over on Instagram where I’m currently struggling to keep up with Instagram stories!

Congrats on the award!! It would make sense why you would win in photography, photos are amazing as always. July looked adventurous, takes me back to my trip to Santorini almost 10 years ago.

Massive congratulations on your blog award! It is very well deserved. I love visiting for a dose of Candy Pop colour and style.

Speaking of colour – the field snapshots in your first two collages are stunning. So vibrant!
