August was about slowing down and planning for the coming season. I worked on a couple of commissions and did some much-needed blog maintenance. Including deleting all my old posts. It’s amazing what you can achieve when you spend a little time offline.

It was quite a valuable exercise and it pushed me to try out new ways of doing things. I also learnt that posting less on Instagram results in more follows and less unfollows. Who knew?

My man turned 40 and we spent a long weekend in Manchester. It was fun to explore the city, especially the Northern Quarter. I left my camera at home so I could take a proper break. It was blissful!

I caught up with bloggers Susie, Ashley and Rosie, and there were many leisurely days with friends. I also put my National Trust membership to good use visiting Chastleton HouseNuffield Place, Greys CourtBasildon Park and Cliveden. A weekend no longer feels complete without a musty manor house and some homemade cake.

And finally, I decided to tweak the format of these posts. I hope you like them.

Loved this post, such gorgeous photos. I love how you capture such fresh, clean and bright images. It’s really made me think about planning ahead for the new season too. Love the idea of taking time away from online and reading again, plus I really need to spend some time with the Hubster! x

Gorgeous, gorgeous photographs. I have those gold Boden shoes in my virtual shopping basket. You also have a similar September goal to me, less time online and more time reading. I have a pile of books by my bedside crying out for my attention so I think it’s time to log in less.
