CANDY POP IN 2016

2016 has been a tough cookie and I think many of us are more than ready to embrace the festive season. I’m planning to take two weeks off (yay!) and so I’m ending the year with a little round-up of the ten most popular blog posts.

I’d also like to say a big heartfelt thank you for visiting Candy Pop. We live in busy times and I’m always honoured when you stop by. Much of what I share here are the things I’m trying to achieve in my own life. Editing out the distractions to make way for what’s important. Every day is a journey where we learn more and more about ourselves and how we’d like to live. I love the Bowie quote, ‘ageing is an extraordinary process whereby you become the person that you always should have been.’ One day I hope I’ll get there.

MERRY CHRISTMAS AND A HAPPY NEW YEAR!

My highlights of 2016 were winning the Thirty Plus blog award for innovative content, writing features for the first three issues of Breathe magazine, hosting a photowalk at Blogtacular and becoming an ambassador for Lumix. I also travelled to the delightful Greek island of Mykonos, somewhere I’ve wanted to visit since my teens. And I undertook four months of voluntary work for Sue Ryder. A charity that provides compassionate care to people with end of life or long-term needs.

In 2017 I’d love to nail my work-life balance and implement a slick daily routine. I’m not quite at ease with the whole freestyle freelance thing yet, so I’m hoping a few changes will help. It will also give me an excuse to stock up on pretty lifestyle planners!

I hope you have a wonderful Christmas and are able to slow down to enjoy time with your loved ones. I’m aware that for some Christmas can be difficult. If you’re not looking forward to the holiday season do take the very best care of yourself.

I’ll be back in 2017 with some shiny new posts. Until then you can catch me on Instagram, TwitterFacebook and Pinterest, where I’ll be popping in from time to time. Thank you again for being so wonderfully supportive. Have fun and I’ll see you next year! x

I think this has been the best year yet for Candy Pop and I’m so incredibly proud of how you’ve made your first year of freelancing and full time blogging such a success. Sometimes it feels like we’ve blogging for so long but you continue to inspire me and I think the best is yet to come! Have a wonderful Christmas N and hope to see lots more of you in the new year.
