In the week that Instagram broke a few hearts by announcing it was scrapping the chronological feed, I thought I’d share a few of my favourite accounts. I must confess narrowing down my favourites to five was an almost impossible task so I’ll certainly be sharing a few more soon. I enjoy following accounts that are different to my own and I’m drawn to those with a strong personal identity because it inspires me to develop my creative self. So here are five of my favourite Instagram accounts.
Audrey Jeanne is a French illustrator with an adorable siamese cat. Her photographs of her home and designs are simple, modest and charming and she has an enviable collection of houseplants. Definitely a feed for cat lovers!
Saar Manche is an illustrator, painter and photographer who lives in the Hague. Her Instagram account feels warm and familiar and her beautiful paintings sit seamlessly with her photographs. I love the homely elegance of her feed.
Christian Watson is a designer who specialises in branding. I think his illustrations are truly remarkable and with over 450k Instagram followers I’m not the only one who feels this way! Christian’s style couldn’t be any more different to my own and that’s why I find him so deeply inspiring.
I stumbled upon Sara Medina Lind when I was searching for Scandinavian interior accounts. Her feed is almost entirely grey and white and her minimalist images are peaceful and calming. Sara is a designer and photographer and her elegant home is one of my favourites.
And finally, Kessara Dhana who I’ve been following for many years. I love the colour palette, simplicity, variety of subjects and urban feel. She inspires me to look for perfection and environmental pattern and she makes everything look stylish.
